Statement of Principle
Pandemonium in the Prairies (the event) is run by PIP Community Building and Education, hereafter referred to as PIPCBE.
Pandemonium in the Prairies is committed to providing a fun and creative environment that is free from harassment, abusive behaviour, and consent violations. We are dedicated to furthering freedom of expression in tandem with personal accountability, while striving to eliminate abusive behaviours. PIPCBE expects high standards of behaviour and education and will make every effort to ensure that all staff, presenters, and attendees act responsibly and with sensitivity. Staff, presenters, and attendees are expected to be accountable for the consequences of their actions and to consider the well-being of themselves, others and Pandemonium in the Prairies. Conduct that undermines this code, or is exploitative of others, may be cause for removal from the event and/or banning from future events run by PIPCBE.
The following actions may be cause for removal from an event and/or banning:
- Consent Violations. Examples include but are not limited to: failure to honour and use safewords, failure to honour stated limits and/or boundaries, violations of personal space and/or boundaries, violations of the Pandemonium in the Prairies photography policy.
- Abusive Behaviour/Harassment. Examples include but are not limited to: bullying, coercion, unwanted sexual advances, intimidation, outing/doxing, non-consensual physical abuse, and defamation.
Violation of this Code of Conduct
PIPCBE takes reports very seriously. If at a PIPCBE-run event you are being harassed or have your consent violated by any attendee, presenter, or staff member, please contact PIPCBE organizers as soon as possible. To contact PIPCBE organizers, please go to the registration desk, contact a dungeon monitor, or contact another staff member who will relay your request and arrange a meeting. We strive to keep a diverse staff available to accommodate attendee preferences.
Your meeting will be held in private and will not be discussed with anyone outside of the PIPCBE organizers. We are always prepared to call the police, ambulance, and other support services should they be needed.
We encourage you to report any Code of Conduct violations at Pandemonium in the Prairies, as soon as possible and as you feel safe to do so. If you are a third party and concerned on behalf of another, please encourage them to speak to PIPCBE organizers when they feel safe to do so. We will listen to all concerns, but timely, first-hand accounts are more likely to result in action that is immediately beneficial to the victim. We recognize that sometimes reports cannot be made immediately. To make a report after a PIPCBE-run event, please e-mail yxepip@gmail.com.
Review Process
A – If a violation of this Code of Conduct is witnessed or disclosed during a PIPCBE-run event, the Dungeon Monitor Coordinator is empowered to resolve the matter in the moment, including asking for anyone to be ejected from the Pandemonium in the Prairies event. All such cases will also be reported to PIPCBE organizers for further discussion and future management.
B – Issues submitted via email will be reviewed by the PIPCBE organizing team, who will consider the issue(s) at least as a set of data points, useful in seeking patterns of behaviour surrounding an individual.
C – Action taken can range from a warning, to removal from a single PIPCBE-run event, to banning from all PIPCBE-run events.
In Short:
By attending Pandemonium in the Prairies you affirm that you will be honest and respectful in all your interactions and will be accountable for your actions and behaviour.
